Lead story

A boxing simulator that scores the fight the way a ringside judge would

Twelve rounds, ten-point must, and a knockout that can land at any second. The Boxing Sim runs the bout instead of comparing two numbers.

Pick any two of 300+ professional boxers — champions, contenders, prospects and the legends of the last century — set the distance at four, six, eight, ten or twelve rounds, and let the engine fight it out. Every boxer carries twelve ratings taken from how they actually fight: power, hand speed, accuracy, work rate, the jab, body work, defense, footwork, inside fighting, chin, stamina and ring IQ. The simulator does not average them into one score. Power is checked against the other man's chin and defense; work rate is paid for out of stamina in the late rounds; a southpaw earns his awkwardness against an orthodox opponent who rarely sees one.

The result is a fight you can read like a report from the press row: the round it ended, whether it was a clean knockout, a stoppage on cuts or a corner retirement, or three scorecards that went to a unanimous, split or majority decision — and, sometimes, a draw. Run the same bout a hundred times and the numbers tell you how much of the pick was skill and how much was the puncher's chance.

Use it as a fight predictor for this weekend's card, a dream-fight machine for the arguments that never got settled — Robinson at 160 against the modern middleweights, Tyson against the giants of today — or a straight custom matchup tool: any two boxers, any weight class, a 20-foot ring or a small one, full camp or a late replacement.

How the boxing simulator game works

Ratings are grouped into what wins fights rather than summed: skill (jab, accuracy, ring IQ), pressure (work rate, body work, inside game), defense (guard, footwork, chin) and engine (stamina, speed). Each round is scored from those matchups with the noise a real round has, so an 8-4 favourite still loses one bout in three and a 40-0 record can end on one right hand.

Size and the scale

Cross-division dream fights are priced by the pound: every ten pounds of weight limit the smaller man gives away costs him a little on the cards and more against a puncher. It is why a great flyweight is a fair fight against a great bantamweight and a mismatch against a great heavyweight — the engine says so in the odds before the first bell.

The ratings

Every rating on the site is our own model built from records, opposition, knockout ratios and how each boxer actually fights, updated for 2026. They are not official statistics and the simulations are not betting advice. We are an independent fan project with no connection to any sanctioning body, promoter or broadcaster — a fight page, not a sportsbook.

Play boxing online, free, live round by round

This is a boxing sim rather than a fighting game: nothing to download, no account, no controller. Press simulate and the bout plays out as a live boxing game on the page, one round at a time, with the knockdowns, the cuts and the scorecards as they happen, then the verdict and the reasons. It runs in any browser, on a phone, a Chromebook or a work PC, which is why it doubles as a free boxing game online for a lunch break. Want more than one fight? The career mode makes you the fighter and Boxing Manager puts you behind the desk; the whole shelf, with pages for unblocked, mobile and PC play, is under free boxing games.

Questions from the mailbag

What is The Boxing Sim?
A free boxing simulator. Pick any two of 300+ real boxers, choose the distance, hit simulate, and the engine predicts the winner, the method — knockout, stoppage or decision — and the round, then explains why.
Is the boxing simulator free?
Yes. Everything on the site runs in your browser with no download, no sign-up and no paywall: a boxing game free of charge, and the fight plays live round by round, so it works as a boxing live game as well as a predictor.
How accurate is it?
Each boxer carries twelve ratings — power, speed, accuracy, work rate, jab, body work, defense, footwork, inside fighting, chin, stamina and ring IQ — from 2026 data. The engine fights them round by round rather than comparing totals, so favourites win about as often as they do in real boxing, and upsets happen the way they do in real boxing: on a punch.
Can I build my own fight card?
Not a card, but a stable: the Boxing Manager game puts you behind the desk with real boxers under contract, promoters sending offers, and belts to chase.
