How they compare with the app-store boxing games
The boxing games on the app stores are mostly two kinds: arcade fighters where you tap and swipe through animated bouts, and manager games that sell energy and gold packs. Ours are neither. They are simulations built on a roster of 300+ real boxers with twelve ratings each, and the fight is fought by an engine rather than by your thumbs. There is nothing to buy inside them, no energy bar, no timer that asks you to come back in four hours.
The trade is that there is no 3D ring. What you get instead is the sport as the people who run it see it: a tale of the tape, a round-by-round, three scorecards, a promoter’s desk, a matchmaker’s options, a career with contracts and rivals. If you want to hit a punching bag on your phone, an arcade app will serve you better; if you want to argue about who beats whom and be told why, this is the shelf.
Playing on a phone
Every page is built for a phone screen first: the controls are big enough to tap, the tables drop the columns that do not fit, and the games save automatically in your browser so a career you start on the train is waiting for you later. Add the site to your home screen from the browser menu and it opens like an app, without being one.
Which one to start with
The simulator is the front door: pick two boxers and tap simulate. The career is the one people keep coming back to on the phone, ten or fifteen minutes a sitting. The manager game is the deep one, a stable and ten years.
